Changed my avatar to pink with a ribbon for this event, as well as doing my part to show support as well as quell my itch to make something on Photoshop; more so the first, though, I can assure you.
I put this under "People" in wallpapers because, well, breast cancer affects people. With hope, support, love, and dedication can a cure or more efficient treatment be found. This isn't just for breast cancer, though it is the main focus; just recently, a would-be alumni of my high school died of a form of cancer (Hodgkin's disease). She was to be Class of 2007.
Grace passed away August 1st, and although I did not know her as personally as some of my friends and classmates, being part of a community and having met her on a few occasions, I have a place for her in my heart. The school held fund-raisers for her medical bills, and the student community held local-band concerts whose ticket sales went to her as well. Although I participated in these fund raisers and went to the concerts, I did not get to attend the wake or funeral due to circumstances beyond my control. However, I not only dedicate this to all of those fighting breast cancer, searching for its cure, I also dedicate this to Grace. I know it's late, very much so, but better late than never, right?
